Alex Freytag had mothballed ProfitWorks, the business he started in 1996. Then in 2020, he wrote a book, the phone started ringing, and chaos took over. Today, he’s worked with over 150 clients, built a certified coach program, and finally achieved freedom.

A Foot In Two Boats
Alex was drowning. He’d relaunched ProfitWorks while running his EOS practice, but had no one to help him. “It was almost like I had a foot in two boats,” he says, “and it was very time consuming and chaotic.”
The imbalance went deeper than business. “I was going in a hundred different directions and moving very fast,” he recalls. Despite teaching others about discipline and accountability as an EOS Implementer, his own life lacked intention. “I was less disciplined about planning my week, planning my day, even planning my 90 days. I was sort of just operating like a robot.”
The Call That Changed Everything
Alex discovered Strategic Coach® through Dan Sullivan’s book How The Best Get Better. The alignment between EOS and Strategic Coach values drew him in. Eight years later, he hasn’t missed a single quarterly session.
The breakthrough came while walking back to his hotel after a Toronto workshop. ProfitWorks was a year old and struggling. “I had this epiphany about somebody I needed to contact,” he says. “ The rest is history.” Today, that person is his business partner, and their partnership has catalyzed massive growth.

From Zero To Coaching Empire
Today, ProfitWorks has grown from nothing to over 150 clients, and Alex developed a certified coach program with a dozen coaches (and counting!). Combined with his EOS practice serving 110 firms, he’s built exactly the business he envisioned.
He’s also achieved what we call at Strategic Coach the Four Freedoms: “Time, money, relationship, and purpose. Those are all for me right now at a very high level.” He’s more intentional about who he spends time with, maintains a strong meditation practice, and clears a day to think after each workshop to stay aligned with his vision.
